Two People, Two Approaches: Seeing Oneself in the Mirror of the Quran

First, there are those who;

Take their ablution, open the Holy Quran, and start reading its translation. For the first few verses, everything goes smoothly. But as the pages turn, they notice that the verses touch upon their comfort zone. They confront them with a mistake they made, disrupting their established beliefs. The next verse feels even heavier; it shakes the traditional perception of religion inherited from their ancestors. Another sets boundaries on their interests, property, possessions, and worldly desires. When the truth becomes too heavy, they immediately close the translation cover and return to that safe zone where they will not question its meaning—reading only its Arabic recitation. Because facing the truth requires courage.

And then there are the Others!

They too open the translation of the supreme book… As soon as they read a few verses, they realize that everything they believed to be “right” until today is wrong, and that the religion they learned contradicts the essence of the Quran. They do not run away; they confront it. They begin to question with submission. As the verses pierce their hearts like an arrow, they rebuild their lives wave by wave according to the principles of the Quran. Breaking their preconceptions, they walk in the light of revelation. That is not enough; they share this beauty, this purification with their loved ones. They say, “Come, let us correct with the Quran the wrongs we believed to be right.” But what is their reward? Being marginalized, isolated, and even declared disbelievers… Despite this, they do not turn back from their path. This sincere stance of theirs inspires other hearts as well; others also begin to question and change. In spite of those who judge them in the name of religion, they never give up on the cause of truth and being revived by revelation. So to those who choose the truth, not their comfort; to those who hold fast to the Quran without fearing the blame of the blamer…
